As time goes on, Wendy has some important roles. In the Edolas arc, she's Carla's friend and that provides a lot of motivation and furthering of the arc itself. While the Edolas arc was poorly done, in my opinion, it's hard to distinguish exactly what she did. In the Tenrou arc, she's the partner of Mest/Doranbolt and serves a pivotal role in the Hades fight. The story continues and Wendy is commonly seen, but doesn't really seem to ever really do much. She certainly gives it her all, no doubt about that, but it never seems like she really ever does anything. She's the youngest, and only female dragon slayer. And in retrospect, Wendy is actually really powerful for her age. While compared to people such as Erza, Gray and Natsu, Wendy may not seem like much, thinking about it in terms of age makes Wendy incredible. She's almost on the level of people who have been practicing magic much longer than her. And then during the Tartarous Arc we see the most major development thus far in her character. Not only does she go into her first dragon-force, but we see Wendy Marvell ready to sacrifice her life in order to stop face. This of course is resolved, but the fact that this young child was willing to die in order to protect the world shows a lot about her as a character. And then, we get even more on Wendy. She actually cuts her hair with her magic, and declares for herself that she is going to "grow up". I don't know where her character is going, but I'm excited to find out. | When first introduced. Wendy is this adorable little kid who just wants to help everyone as much as she can. She's a little bit clumsy, and considerably naive. It's no wonder that she quickly becomes the "Little Sister" of Fairy Tail. |
