I know a lot of people are hating on Juvia for being so obsessive towards Gray, but really can you blame her? Before meeting Gray, she had never seen the sun.
Then, after she meets him, the rain goes away and she can see the sun whenever she wants to. She smiles, laughs, and is just all together happy, which she never was before. I really really wish that Hiro would give us more background on her, because she probably has one of the most tragic back stories. Yes, Lucy’s father was mean, Natsu’s dragon abandoned him, Gray was kind of responsible for his mentors death and Erza grew up in child slavery. When you think about it though, they all had some happiness in their childhood. I'm not saying that their lives were easy, but Juvia seemingly had it a worse. In the brief mentions of Juvia’s past, she’s alone. No one wanted anything to do with her because of the rain. She was lead to believe that she was lesser because of her powers, and that no one could care about her. When she joined Phantom Lord, it was for her powers not because anyone really cared about who she was. From what we see, she always was miserable.
Not only did Gray save her from the endless rain and serious depression, but he also led her to a happier place. She never would have joined Fairy Tail if it weren’t for him, and she loves the guild. Not to mention how socially deprived she’s been, it’s no wonder she doesn’t act like a ‘normal’ girl. She's never had the chance to be normal. Also, we don't know what the deal with her and Bora was, other than he left her because of the rain. I love Juvia, and I think she has a wonderful character. I would like to see more from her though, a little bit less Gray-sama this and Gray-sama that. Obviously, he’s a very important part in her character, and that’s awesome. I just want more of Juvia, maybe building on her friendship with Gajeel and more on the way she looks at the world now vs. the way she looked at the world when she was younger.

Juvia has changed so much since she was introduced. She went from a depressed villain, to a shy sort-of stalker, to a happy young woman. When we first see her, she's an S-class mage from Phantom Lord. She's unemotional and passive up until she begins her fight with Gray. As the fight evolves she shows more and more emotion, and then at the very end we see what perfectly describes what kind of place she's in. As she's about to fall to her death, she accepts it. Then Gray saves her, and I think that's the first time she'd ever felt valued. Don't get me wrong, Gajeel and Juvia are my brOTP, but there's no evidence to support that.
Afterwards, we see her sort-of stalking Gray. She's following him, and making lunches for him as well. She's too shy to engage him, and continues at the background for quite some time. It isn't until the Tower of Heaven Arc that she interacts with everyone, because she protected Gray. During this arc, she reveals her desire to join Fairy Tail, and is noticeably quite happier. As the story line continues, we see Juvia breaking more and more out of her shell and associating with more people.
Over all, Juvia has changed so much during the course of Fairy Tail and I'm immensely proud of her.
